Painted with permission by photographer Ron Levinson. I thought the pelican photo was hilarious and couldn't pass it up.

From the over-the-edge series.

From the "Over the Edge" series....Another example of why we're called "starving artists."
New for 2009.
I can't think of anything inspiring to say about this one, except that it would look great framed over a brown couch.
Because critical reviews from my painting "Tern, Right at Light" (which featured a blurred background and a foreground over the matting) were so popular, I decided to continue that pattern with the state bird of Margaritaville.
This painting is supposed to make you miss those lazy days at the beach.

Sometimes, ya just gotta do what ya gotta do… This is a locally famous, nationally craved, Russo’s sub. This painting is on permanent display at Russo’s Sub Shop in West Palm Beach. I guess you could say this is my first “oil painting” …

My painting of the metal dolphin sign, seen outside of the Old Key Lime House restaurant in Lantana. I’ve just always liked it….
From photographer Donna Purtel
I'd better stop painting pelicans, or risk being labeled "The Pelican Man!"
My first "impressionistic" painting attempt. From photographer Brenda Phillips.
As seen at the Palm Beach County Airport exhibition "Art in Public Places, Come out and Play," February 2009 through June 2009.
Acrylic on rounded metal.
Commisioned pooch portrait
Another painting from Photographer Richard Gibson’s collection ( Hi-Seas Phototgraphy.com ) of action on the high seas. Notice the bait-fish in her mouth
A painting inspired by a piece from Richard Gibson photography collection. ( HiSeasPhotography.com )..
A school of Pelicans waiting for fish scraps in Jupiter inlet.
I found this great website for underwater photography, www.UnderwaterReflections.com, World reknown photographer Bruce Yates permitted me to paint this fantastic shot of a school of Baracuda that he took in Indonesia.
As seen at the Boca Museum of Art Courtyard Exhibition, July and August, 2008.
Makes me start looking for a tub of butter! This painting was copied from a photograph from photographer Julie Taylor of South Florida Divers.com.

Winner for the month of December, for the 2008 Art For Living Calendar of Martin County, benefiting the "Helping People Succeed" Foundation.
This piece was originally intended for the calendar series, but the more I painted, the more I got "into it." Not just a painting of fabric and chrome, this painting represents people calling out to each other, to remember those who gave up their freedom for our freedom.
How did I get this shot? I was on a bridge at "Gatorama!" I cheated and used University of Florida colors in the snout. So sue me.
While enjoying a Sunday ride, this old German fighter plane comes outta nowhere and crash-lands in a nearby field. Seems like a photo opportunity!
I jump off my bike and rush over, and it's just some guy getting fuel at an Aero Club fueling station.

A pelican drive-by looking for a handout.
Simple coconuts just hanging out.
Pronounced "E-Vern-Ya," it's not the "Bates Motel" or "Hotel California," just an old joint in town. I really just wanted to try paint neon...
As seen at the Palm Beach International Airport in the Ar(t)chitectural Attitude, Art in Public Places Exhibition, September thru February, 2009

A favorite strip for bikers on A1A in south Palm Beach County. Stop through on a Sunday morning to duck away from the sunshine and into the shadows. Listen to the bike's roar among the trees and spot the lone, oncoming headlight of someone who shares your passion. And although you may be sad when the tunnel hits the end, you'll be smiling once you see that wide-open view of the ocean.
A tribute to those who protect us from ourselves.

The pelican eating lunch seemed to turn his back at me and the "No Fishing" sign.

Once a Biker Bad-Ass Tough-guy, now an apron-wearing, "too much salt"-caring, "I hope I get on the Food Channel" chef to the common people.

I actually saw this in a church parking lot and thought it would make a good painting.
Sometimes you just want to paint. The red 1958 Caddy was perfectly restored and just waiting to tell its history, but after I got the shot, I was shown an earlier painting of a red '58 Cadillac in a similar pose by Scott Jacobs. I changed the car color to pink and named it after Ms. Franklin..hoping nobody would notice.
This should have been called "Ernest Goes to Art School." This was my second project at a Las Vegas airbrush class and THE favorite among my critics.
This painting is 100% airbrush, and was copied from a photo in a magazine.
Notice the sunburn on his nose.

It was really hot this year at Bikeweek in Daytona, and I wanted to show just that when I painted the front end of a springer.
That's J & P Cycles in the reflection, at Destination Daytona.
I wanted to paint something patriotic. During a HOG ride, I photographed the bike in front of me sporting an American flag. In the photograph, you could see the shadow of me taking the photo --- OR it could be a saluting serviceman.
I kept it in the painting and re-numbered the license plate...
My neighbor's Border Collie. They have a Honda.

At a recent event, I noticed that the first thing most women do after dismounting their ride is to check their appearance in the bike's mirror. Patti Gollahon from Iron Eagle Motorcycle Company in West Palm Beach agreed to pose for this likeness. Notice owner Jeff patiently waiting in the chrome reflection of the starter button.
As seen at the Boca Museum of Art Courtyard Exhibition, July and August, 2008
In my paintings, I want the viewer to think about what just happened and what's about to happen. This painting represents the anticipation and the planning of a motorcycle ride to "Bike week."
